Terra North's Bovine Colostrum Quality Processing Pledge
Terra North only uses La Belle, Inc. bovine colostrum powder produced from pure bovine origin colostrum liquid collected from controlled, healthy Grade-A dairy herds.

The colostrum is pooled, concentrated and gently spray dried to maintain immunoglobulin and antibody activity. Modern state-of-the-art production facilities, located in Washington and California, are registered with both the Washington & California State Licensing Divisions as food production facilities.

Terra North & La Belle, Inc. facilities also meet the rigorous requirements of the 1994 Federal Dietary Health Supplement Act, and are registered USDA establishments for the preparation of biological products.

All incoming colostrum liquid is Quality Control checked for pH, total solids, and specific gravity. This Q.C. check assures that Terra North is using only the best liquid colostrum to produce its spray-dried products. All finished products are tested using our in-house Q.C. laboratory. Terra North guarantees top quality, activity and exceptional turn around time.

The immunoglobulin activity of Terra North colostrum is measured using the latest Radial Immunodiffusion (RID) technique. This technique measures only immunoglobulin activity, so the customer can be assured that they are purchasing only active immunoglobulins in every package of Terra North colostrum.

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) also known as g-globulin, is the principal antibody found in colostrum. IgG is broken into subclasses IgG1 and IgG2. They differ only in their degree of segmental flexibility and their capacity to trigger complement fixation and other effector functions. IgG1 makes up approximately ninety-percent of the total IgG content in colostrum. IgM and IgA are also found in colostrum. IgM is the first class of antibodies to appear after an antigen invades the body. IgA is the next major class of immunoglobulin found in colostrum. IgA serves as a first line of defense against bacterial and viral antigens. IgA is transported across epithelial cells to be found in intestinal tract mucus, bronchial mucus, saliva and tears.

La Belle assays every lot of colostrum for microbiological contamination (total plate count, coliforms, Salmonella sp., Escherichia sp., Staphylococcus aureus, and fungi), IgG, moisture, fat, protein, total carbohydrates, ash and particle size testing and antibiotics. Special assays may be requested for IgA, IgM and specific antibodies.

Terra North has a complete nutritional analysis available through a licensed independent laboratory. Terra North also works closely with customers to provide as much technical support and research as possible.

La Belle has been producing top quality colostrum powder since 1986. Terra North's continued growth with La Belle and reputation can be attributed to our pledge to supply only pure efficacious colostrum powder, which reflects the integrity of the company to stand behind its products with one-hundred percent assurance to its customers.
